201X/Y is Negative pH’s third full length release. Both albums share an identical tracklisting and differ only in how they were mixed and mastered.
201X was mastered to meet the music industry’s ‘loudness war’ standard. Each track has been trained to assault your speakers with redline pumping sound. If a collection of -pH’s trademark slamming bass and synth-wall attacks are what you’re here for, 201X is for you.
released January 14, 2014
Produced by Josh (Juggern0t) Fanene and Mike (Fony) Bailey
Mastered by Bob Macc of Subvert Central Mastering
I love this album because it has so many elements to it. I hear a cyberpunk like orchestra, and then a dark sci-fi style dive bar on a space freighter. Then it's like you walk into this bright cheerful dance club with uplifting techy beats surrounded by neon light tubes. I think this album tells a story. Hearing this in surround sound is best too, so that way you can hear all the little details in each track. ichinisahn
As a long time MikeB follower and supporter I am more than happy to support this album. His enthusiasm and excitement over the production and execution of this project was infectios. Watching him produce this album live was a real treat. Pick this up immediately! Xeno
Mike continues to make music that my ears love. This album is a perfect addition to my work playlist, with sounds resembling those of Negative PH and some hints of drum and bass. In my opinion, this is Mike's best work so far. merbzing
